Investment - Update

Finally, I have the time to sit down to write on the blog. I have sold off all my holdings in last Dec before I go for my holiday (You feel so relaxed with no holding in hand). But anyway as the new year starts, I will planning to buy in some of the counters that I always hold back at a lower price.  Counters such as Cambridge have drop to 52 cents which will be a good bargain again. I am still waiting and will be doing some studies first before I decided what is the price that I should buy in again.. That is all for now.. I will keep you guys updated again..

Investment - Portfolio Summary Update

I have applied for the DRP for Cambridge for the recently dividend distribution of 1.238 cents per share.  I feel that this will be a good way of reinvesting the dividend I get from Cambridge as I will not have to pay agent fee and the price of the counter is lower than market price.  CaptialComm have also announced a dividend distribution of 3.9 cents per share and I am now waiting for the report and dividend announcement from Comfort Delgro and CitySpring which will be coming next week.

Investment - Portfolio Summary (14 June 2010 to 9 July 2010)

After a 2 month overseas trip in Vietnam for work and a short hoilday trip in Shanghai, I finally have some time to update my blog and look at my porfolio.

This short hoilday trip to Shanghai was an interesting one.  I saw many of Singapore's big name setting up businesses in Shanghai.  For example, Captialland's Raffles City in 人民广场.. F&B companies such as Breadtalk and 美珍香 also have a strong presense in Shanghai.  I saw many Breadtalk and 美珍香 outlets in many parts of Shanghai.  You also can see DBS Buildings in 陆家嘴..

Ok.. Back to the porfolio, the porfolio did well for the past month when I am not around to go from a loss of around $200/- to a profit of $800/-.  I have decided to take profit by selling off CapitalComm and Comfort Delgro.  Cambridge will be releasing it report and dividend distribution soon on 15 July 2010.  I am also waiting for the report from GIL to see if the new management will be giving out dividend for the first half of the year before I decide whether to hold on to this counter.

At the moment, after selling off CapitalComm and Comfort Delgro, the porfolio is now on 60% cash and 40% equity.

It had been a good week for my porfoilo.  The gain from the porfoilo went up from $1243.53 (7.1%) to $2098.53(11.9%).  Two of the best performing counter is Cosco and Cambridge which went up 24 cents and 3.5 cents respectively.  I am now planning to buy 1 lot of Citigroup (US) whenever I have the required fund avaliable (either by injection more funds to the porfolio or selling off a few counter such as Transpac)

Transpac shares price went up by 8 cents to close at $1.57 on thursday once it announced that dividend distribution date. It will be distributing a final dividend of 10 cents per shares in May. Together with this distribution, the total distribution for last year will be 50 cents per shares or 29% yield based on my buying price of $1.72

I have decided to increase the portfolio money by another 1k to 17.5k.  With the newly injected capital together with the dividend I have collected, I decided to buy 1 lot of COSCO.  With a portfolio spreading across different sector (from Telecom to REIT), I have decided to invest in shipping building and I have selected Cosco due to the fact it is one of the largest shipbuilder in the world.  And also Cosco gives yearly dividend of around 3 cents per year..

Investment - Porfolio Summary (1 Feb 2010 to 5 Feb 2010)

The stocks markets continue to drop this week and my investment drops around 6.3% this two weeks. But I still  take the chance to load in some more counters to add to my porfolio.  I have bought in Aztech (5 lots) and Neratel (5 lots).  This two counters give good dividend payout and their result for the full year will be announced next week.  Starhub have released their full year report last week and have announced that it will be distributing 5 cents per shares for the last quater.  With this announcement, my total dividend collected this year have increased to $188.85.  Thrakal's resolution regarding the capital reduction have been approved during the general meeting last thursday, so it is now waiting for the court approval in April.  If that is approved, it will be distributing 5 cents per shares.

Investment - Value of Investment (6 Jan 2010)

Cambridge continues the upwards trend to up 1 cents and close at 46.5 cents today. The last quarter report and dividend announcement should be out around end of Jan 2010. At the present pricing, the dividend yield is around 11.5% based on the last quarter dividend payout.  Another thing to note is that the NAV for this counter is around 60 cents, thus I believe it still have a lot of room to rise. My target selling price is around 70 cents to 75 cents. At this price the approx. dividend yield will be around 7% which is not longer attractive taking into account the high gearing. So meanwhile I will just sit back and collect my dividend at the moment and wait for it to reach my target selling price.

Tomorrow is the xD date for GIL, I have expected the price to go down slightly in the afternoon trading. I have decided to hold on to this counter for the moment as it is giving good dividend and I see the potential in this counter for capital gain. I will expect the price to fall further tomorrow to around 23.5 cents to 24.5 cents and hopefully it can stay around there...

Another counter I wish to talk about it Transpac.  Today the price of Transpac raised by 6 cents, the NAV for this counter is around $2.45.  It should be releasing the last year report soon, hopefully we can see another round of dividend when this report comes out

The whole the portfolio went up $240 dollars (2.03%) to $12046.79/-. I have recovered the loss due to previous contra within this new portfolio. I will continue to maintain this cautious way of trading and hopeful to continue to make some profit in SGX... Good Night for now....

Today, Cambrigde Industrial Trust went up by 1 cents as I think people are loading before the dividend announcement which will come at the end of the month.  Thakral is another counter in which I am waiting for it to announce the details of the capital reduction exercise which it will pay back 5 cent per share to the share holder.  I am targeting to sell it off at 11 cents if the capital reduction exercise go through.
